Nakula has worked as a freelance dancer with the West Glamorgan Dance Theatre in

Wales, Karma Consult in Norway, and the Apoorva Dance Theatre, India. He enjoys

interacting with different cultures and has lived around the world in China, the UK,

and Norway. Nakula has always had a keen interest in alternative energy and

sustainable living practices and has worked on organic farms in Ireland, Wales,

and India. He has:

  • Looked at the different approaches in visual arts, dance, drama, and music

       while working on the Kali Kalisu project with government school teachers from

       rural districts in Karnataka.

  • Been trained in yoga, contemporary and classical Indian dances.

  • Performed repertory and improvised material at international dance festivals such as the Bering’s Sea Dance Festival in Norway, and the German festival.

  • Initiated a lot of work in Community Arts and has been working within this arena.

  • Facilitated various processes for understanding and adapting pedestrian movements that are useful while working with nondancers, actors, or beginners.

  • Taught at the Kanpur NIIT, Shristi School of Art Design and Media, Wigan and Leigh College, NIFT, St. Josephs Indian, Sophia, Sindhi, Hombe Gowda high school, Ramaiah’s Medical College, and Accenture.

  • Has worked as a faculty member for the Diploma in Dance course at Attakkalari, since its inception in 2006.
