Lourd Vijay is a Guinness World Record holder and the Founder and Artistic

Director of Lourd Vijay’s Dance Studio. He has worked with a lot of superstars and

celebrities, the likes of Jackie Chan, Nandita Das, Phurab Kohli, Mallika Sherawat,

Sharmila Mandre, Raghu Mukherjee, Lekha Washington, Akshara Hasan,

Varalakshmi Sharathkumar, and directors, producers, and writers, such as Stanley

Tong, Raja Menon, Jacob, Aravind Adiga, Indrajit Lankesh, Sandeep Mohan. He has

also worked on dance reality shows like Dance India Dance and Lux Perfect Bride,

Guinness World Record – Ab India Todega, etc.

Lourd has had extensive training in Salsa (LA and Cuban Style), Bachata, Cha-cha,

Zouk, Afro-Cuban Funk, Freestyle Jive, Acro-Duo, Lifts, and tricks. He is one of the

principal promoters of Latin culture, music, and dance in the entire Asian region.

Lourd has traveled to more than 30 countries to train, perform and teach dance. He brings a high level of professionalism to dance and has set many benchmarks in the creative & entertainment industry. He has trained over 1.5 lakh students and has worked with many corporates, schools, and other enterprises. He has worked on a lot of creative projects including musicals, feature films, and ad films. His company LVDS - Lourd Vijay's Dance Studio, has a major presence in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, and Mumbai.

  • Stood 10th at the 'Most Popular Entrepreneur of the Year 2009'

  • Ambassador of India to South Africa as part of Rotary International’s Group Study Exchange Program

  • Revolutionized Indian-western dance over and over again in India – most notably, by introducing Salsa in 1997.
